Album Notes
From the liner notes of this DVD (corrections to some of the copy):
This is a celebration of Willie's 1974 Independence Day Picnic. It begins with Willie welcoming the thousands who turned up to this, the second of the now legendary events, with ''Whiskey River'' and ''Stay A Little Longer.'' B. W. Stevenson comes next with ''Be My Woman'' and ''Maybe Mexico'' with another all-time favorite, Waylon Jennings, in between with ''Good Hearted Woman.'' The incredible Doug Kershaw follows B. W. with a supercharged performance of ''Diggy Liggy Lo'' (complete with nude groupie). Waylon returns with ''Willie The Wandering Gypsy And Me'' and ''Sick And Tired.'' Willie Nelson's ''Song For You'' leads into the cool dude Leon Russell's rendition of ''Jambalaya (On the Bayou)'' with some superb guitar playing by Willie who then follows with ''Funny How Time Slips Away.'' Waylon's ''This Time'' is followed by The Lost Gonzo Band's ''London Homesick Blues.'' Another fiddle extravaganza by Doug Kershaw is followed by Michael Martin Murphey and ''Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother,'' the whole ensemble then singing ''Cosmic Cowboy.'' The party winds up with Willie and Leon singing ''Goodnight Irene.''
